While we know the biggest impact in the quest to reverse (or at least mitigate) climate change will be made by governments and businesses, we believe everybody needs to contribute. The climate emergency is not going to resolve itself. It’s going to take all of us collaborating to make it happen. As Greta Thunberg says “no one is too small to make a difference”.
We aim to help by making clear the choices we make day to day, and their impacts on the planet (foremost) and beyond. We also believe that laying the facts bare and encouraging a discussion around it is the best way to involve everyone in this huge challenge that is ahead of us. Reducing or over-simplifying complex concepts like capitalism and wealth creation is what led us here; now we need a new path forward.
Ultimately, we hope that the concepts laid out in this blog will add to the conversation and momentum that is building. That we will be able to enable everyone to understand the wider impact of everyone’s choices and bring a new lens - that the time for frivolous, no holds-barred, growth at all costs is behind us. After all, this planet belongs not just to the 1-2 billion who use a vast majority of its resources as of now, but all 7 billion who deserve the chance to reasonable standard of living and the many billions that will follow us!
We are a rag tag bunch of professionals based around London and the rest of the UK. We aren’t experts in any one field but generalists and this is our humble attempt to shape the world around us into the one we dream of: sustainable, socially just and empowering.
